RELiEF partner NOVA presents study at EREM2024 in South Korea: "Selective electrodialytic recovery of lithium from liquid secondary resources"
Jeonju, South Korea, 2 - 4 September 2024
The 19th international Symposium on Electrokinetic Remediation (EREM2024) took place in Jeonju, South Korea, between the 2nd and 4th of September 2024.
Our member Alexandra B. Ribeiro, from NOVA University Lisbon, participated in EREM2024, which brings together innovative academics and other experts, focusing on topics related to applications of conventional and advanced electrokinetic techniques for remediation of environmental contamination in various media, including resources recovery.
It was a remarkable opportunity to share the work on the selective recovery and purification of lithium that NOVA is developing in the RELiEF project (WP5).
The work titled “Selective electrodialytic recovery of lithium from liquid secondary resources”, authored by J. Almeida, A. C. Lemos, E. P. Mateus and A. B. Ribeiro, was orally presented at the symposium. The study provides new insights on the electrodialytic process optimisation for the selective separation of lithium from lithium-ion batteries recycling wastewater and an organic solvent from the pharmaceutical industry.
EREM2025 will be held in Portugal and organised by NOVA.
